About this position
We are currently looking for a Compensation Consultant to support us with the design, implementation and management of our compensation programs across our various business units and regions. This position requires strong analytical skills and a good sense of customer service. Reporting to the Global Compensation & Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for:
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position:
- Provide guidance to your peers within the HR team in the interpretation and application of our total rewards programs (e.g. compensation guidelines, incentive programs, policies, etc.).
- Work closely with HR partners as a compensation expert. Review and analyze a variety of compensation-related requests, such as off-cycle salary adjustments, incentive bonuses, one-time payments, etc., and propose creative and coherent solutions to meet their needs.
- Actively collaborate on various global projects related to total rewards by participating in cost analyses, design, communication and implementation.
- Develop, revise and implement policies, practices and programs to ensure the competitiveness of our Total Rewards offering in the marketplace.
- Support business deployment and HR partners during the annual compensation cycle.
- Conduct compensation surveys, analyze results and make recommendations to add value to the company’s strategic plan.
- Develop training material on our various programs and make presentations to managers and employees and answer questions.
- Ensure that compensation practices comply with the law and carry out compliance activities (e.g. Pay Equity Act and other programs).
- Ensure that our HRIS database remains up to date by maintaining a high level of data quality and accuracy, and by sharing ideas for improvement.
Minimum qualification requirements/licenses and certifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in a compensation-related position or in a compensation consulting firm.
- High attention to detail and excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Meticulous in compensation analysis, data management and regulatory compliance.
- Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive compensation information.
- Good project management skills and ability to lead projects independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively at different organizational levels.
- Good leadership and business acumen.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
- Knowledge of Workday is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required for this position, as it involves participation in meetings and projects with an international scope, as well as interactions with colleagues or customers located in other provinces or countries.
