Job purpose

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, IT Project Management, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for projects of varying size and complexity. The incumbent will be responsible for managing all aspects of program/project analysis, design, development and implementation.

Main responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects, produce status reports and manage project resources;
  • Manage one or more projects of medium to complex complexity;
  • Manage teams and develop project plans, while monitoring project progress on a daily basis;
  • Identify resource requirements, monitor project progress and escalate functional, deadline and quality issues to the appropriate parties;
  • Track project milestones and adjust plans and resources accordingly;
  • Coordinate all project communications, manage project budgets, scope and risks;
  • Work closely with management to provide guidance, support and advice on the best use of resources to meet current project objectives;
  • Ensure that technical aspects and business processes are effectively integrated to meet the needs and requirements of the various business units;
  • Establish good business relationships with partners and suppliers to maximize their contribution and results to projects and the company;
  • Keep abreast of new trends in project management;
  • Work closely with all company teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or equivalent in project management;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in IT, including a minimum of 2 years in IT project management and digital transformation. Experience in managing projects with multiple technologies and functionalities;
  • PMP certification preferred;
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management methods;
  • Spoken and written bilingualism, English and French (the person will have to deal with external suppliers);
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and team members.
  • Experience of working with SDLC and the deliverables associated with each phase;
  • Experience in estimating resources and developing delivery plans;
  • Ability to multi-task and keep projects on schedule;
  • A keen interest in and knowledge of retailing;
  • Strong negotiating and decision-making skills and initiative;
  • Interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills and team spirit;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
