The raison d’être of employment
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the movement and tracking/tracing of all shipments from our warehouse in Canada to our stores in the United States, in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. laws and regulations.
Main responsibilities
- Maintain and comply with standards, procedures, laws and regulations for all shipments related to the direct export process as well as the cross-trade process;
- Establish and maintain positive business relationships with our customs brokers, forwarding agents, etc;
- Coordinate exports from Montreal to U.S. stores, including submission of export documentation to our customs broker;
- Produce all commercial documents required to clear goods in the U.S. and ensure that they are received in time for pre-clearance (commercial invoice, packing list, waybill, MID list, certificate of origin, etc.), ensuring that documentation complies with customs regulations and requirements;
- Assign HTS codes to La Vie en Rose products and maintain an accurate database of HTS tariff codes;
- Perform regular internal audits of input summaries (Form 7501);
- Continuously research changes in legal requirements and assess the impact on current procedures;
- Identify whether the requirements of other government agencies apply to La Vie en Rose products;
- Ensure constant communication with various internal head office departments regarding the tracking and movement of merchandise and non-merchandise products;
- Propose effective and constructive solutions to shipping and delivery problems and challenges;
- Perform frequent checks to ensure that all information is up to date in our systems before generating commercial documents;
- All other related tasks.

Requirements
- College diploma (or equivalent) in transport/logistics ;
- In-depth knowledge of US import regulations;
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant export experience;
- English and French (written and spoken, the person will have to communicate with stakeholders across Canada) ;
- Knowledge of importing (an asset) ;
- Experience with various order management systems;
- Good knowledge of MS Office: Excel and Outlook.
