Omniplast is looking for a press operator helper ready to get involved in our printing department!

If you come to us, here’s what you get:

• No experience required (but printing experience is an asset!)
• Salary between $21.10 and $23.06
• 8h shift , must be available day, evening and night

A summary of your tasks:

• Help set up cylinders, aniloxes and inks on the presses and familiarize yourself with the production file
• Supply the department with all required inputs (scrap containers, cardboard tubes (core), wood pallets, inks, solvents, etc.).
• Inspect and install rolls of printing film, perform certain quality controls, ensure constant supply of rolls, unload, pack, palletize, weigh and store rolls.
• Box, weigh and transport scrap to designated areas
• Depending on press type, check viscosity, ink levels and take samples. During stoppages, assist with restarts (cleaning of plates, ink basins, printing units, anilox, etc.). At the end of an order, clean and change anilox, plates and inks.
• Work as part of a team on all presses and ensure compliance with plant and occupational health and safety regulations and standards
• Clean presses and equipment

Of course, we do have a few requirements:

• Must be flexible to work different shifts according to production needs (day, evening or night)
• Be careful, this is physical work! You must be able to lift between 50 and 60 lbs. Good physical condition and manual dexterity
• Ability to work as part of a team (we all work together here!)
• Ability to detect color shades (very important in printing!)
• In production, you need to be proactive and very resourceful
• Orderly and methodical
