About the job:

The incumbent will join a production team at our Varennes plant. He/she will be responsible for an entire section of an automated production line comprising around ten pieces of equipment. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that the equipment runs smoothly, as well as feeding raw materials to certain machines, while ensuring a quality product. The schedule is fixed and stable for the year. The schedule is very popular with employees and is spread over 5 weeks as follows:
o 7 days of work spread over 2 weeks of night shifts;
o 7 days of work spread over 2 weeks of day shifts;
o 5th week of work of 16h or 24h of day shifts from 8h00 to 16h30 (depending on the period).

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure that automated lines are running smoothly by making the necessary starts, stops and adjustments on various pieces of equipment, while ensuring a good supply of raw materials.
• Ensure the quality of manufactured products and make the necessary adjustments to production lines as required.
• Perform maintenance on equipment according to established standards.
• Actively participate in problem-solving and take corrective action where necessary.
• Comply at all times with health, safety and environmental procedures, lockout procedures, etc.
• Actively collaborate and work as a team with all departments.
• Keep the work environment clean and safe by following 5S and other procedures.

Experience required :

• 2 years’ relevant experience in an industrial environment as a mechanic, operator, production or process technician.

• Tolerant of stress/ patience
• Ability to manage priorities
• Problem-solving skills

Job requirements:

• DEP in mechanics, automation or a related field
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, instrumentation, automation and electrical engineering
• Good physical stamina (standing work and frequent travel)
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

SC Johnson’s total compensation is equal to or exceeds that of its sector.

• Starting salary of $32.10/hour plus shift premium of $1.18/hour (total of $33.28 for regular hours) (rapid salary progression).
