Direct report to the store manager, the store assistant manager is responsible for the management and the performing execution of the activities of the store’s various departments.

We are looking for an operator with strong experience and skills in the food sector. Do not hesitate to join the Mayrand team.

Your tasks will consist mainly of:

Financial management

  • Establish strategies to maximize sales
  • Contribute to maintain a strategic sales position in the market
  • Use business reports, control store costs and expenses and manage action plans to improve performance
  • Manage operations in order to maximize profitability and regularly monitor results

Customer Service

  • Ensure the high quality of service and customer loyalty
  • Work closely with the various stakeholders, in order to properly meet the needs of our customers
  • Collect customer suggestions and remarks to answer to them
  • Feed Mayrand with local customers’ experience to continuously strengthen client mindset

Team Management

  • Encourage innovation and employees’ creativity and ensure positive change management, in order to increase the store’s performance
  • Act and be recognized as the reference point next to the store manager
  • Participate and communicate loss prevention strategies
  • Develop the skills and qualifications of team members by encouraging the integration of new employees
  • Promote and maintain a healthy and safe workplace
  • Mobilize the team to provide customer service’s quality

Merchandising

  • Analyze and identify the different merchandising opportunities in order to promote sales
  • Revise the go-to-market operations and ensure that the store is for business
  • Understand and integrate market trends

Skills required:

  • Over five (5) years of management experience in the food industry and/or grocery store
  • BAC in business administration or equivalentis an asset
  • Strategic thinking
  • Leadership
  • Good communication
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, able to manage complex or under pressure
  • Curious, solution finding orientation
  • Strong motivation for teamwork
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office suite software
  • Bilingualism, good written and oral expression

Required Qualifications :

  • BAC in business administration or equivalent
  • Have a secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Have one (1) to two (2) years of experience in managing a fruit and vegetable department or in grocery
  • Have a sense of organization
  • Ability to communicate
  • Have a merchant mindset
  • Team spirit
  • Initiative and autonomy
  • Availability and flexibility
