Collective redundancy
In the event of a company closure or layoff of more than 10 employees, the Act respecting labour standards requires the employer to first notify the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité. The latter can then invite the employer to take part in setting up an outplacement committee. The creation of this committee is mandatory when the company has more than 50 employees.
